Water and Dust Tight Stainless Steel Single Door Enclosure

 

Application


Ralston’s V-SS Vision Series single door enclosures are applied indoors and outdoors to house such items as: electronic and electrical controls, instrumentation systems, pneumatic, hydraulic and machine tool controls.

These enclosures are designed to provide protection against dust, dirt, oil and water. They are suitable for areas subject to high pressure hosing and generally wet conditions. (Not submersible)

 

Construction


All V-SS Vision Series enclosures are made from 14 ga. #304 and #316 stainless steel with a #4 brush finish. All seams are continuously welded and ground to a smooth finish. The V-SS Vision Series has a formed lip around the door opening to provide complete and maximum gasket contact, and to prevent liquids from dripping into the enclosure when the door is open.

Each enclosure comes complete with a removable 12 ga. back panel mounted on 3/8 collar studs and a 1/4-20 grounding stud.

 

Each enclosure’s door is equipped with urethane gasket, a removable print pocket on sizes with B dimension 16” or more, 1/4-20 grounding stud and slotted quarter turn latches to secure the door. (optional locking latches are also available) The 180° opening door is easily removed.

 

Large enclosures maintain a rigid construction through the use of door and body stiffeners as well as additional panel mounting studs.

 

Finish


All enclosures have a #4 brush finish. Inner back panels are painted with high gloss white powdered coating.

 

Standards

 

V-SS enclosures are built to the requirements of NEMA Type 12 specifications for use with industrial control equipment in ordinary locations, Type 13 for an oil and dust tight enclosure, and Type 4,4X as a water tight corrosion resistant enclosure.

 

V-SS enclosures are CSA CERTIFIED type 4, 4X, 12, 13 (File #LR 23608).

 

V-SS enclosures are UL 508 listed Type 4,4X,12 and 13 (File #E136838) for Canada and the USA.
